Formaldehyde-free portfolio of Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certified and Verified Healthier Air™ fiberglass insulation sets a new industry standard
Shelbyville, IN — Knauf Insulation, Inc. (Knauf), a leading, family-owned global manufacturer of fiberglass insulation, announced today the completion of its Performance+® portfolio roll out. With the addition of basement wall insulation, metal building insulation, acoustical boards, elevated temperature insulation, and other specialty fiberglass products, Knauf’s full portfolio of fiberglass insulation product made with ECOSE® is now Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certified and Verified Healthier Air™.

The Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program, developed by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) in partnership with Allergy Standards Limited (ASL), certifies products proven to reduce allergen exposure and minimize pollutants in the indoor environment. To earn this certification, Knauf’s Performance+ portfolio underwent rigorous testing to confirm:
- No formaldehyde-based binders.
- Extremely low dust levels after installation.
- Very low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions after 24 hours and 14 days.
- No allergenic or sensitizing chemicals, or concentrations below levels of concern for sensitive individuals.
